Helping out at school is a great way to get involved in your child’s education and get to know the school staff and other parents. Research shows that children benefit when their parents are actively involved in their education and school life. There are many ways you can be involved with Kelvin Grove State College and the P&C. Some of the opportunities are:
Attend P&C Meetings – monthly meetings are attended by the Principal, school staff, and P&C members. Sometimes members of the community are invited to speak. Click here for a list of our upcoming meeting dates.
Become part of the P&C – add your voice to what’s happening around the school. You may like to take on an Executive role such as President, Secretary or Treasurer.
Tuckshop Volunteers – help out in the Junior and Senior Tuckshops. Sign up here.
Pick Up Zone Volunteers – help out during the busy after school pick up zone. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Fundraising Events – help with one of our many events happening during the year.
Make a Donation – your generous donation will help provide programs and resources that enhance our students' educational experience.
Any parent or citizen interested in the school can attend P&C meetings. However, to be eligible to vote on issues, you will need to become a P&C member.
To become a P&C member:
You can join the P&C at any time throughout the year, however voting rights do not commence until the meeting after your membership has been ratified. The exception to this are applications submitted at the AGM.
Download, complete and sign the 'Membership Form' that can be found via the button to the right.
Once the form has been completed, scan and email to the P&C Business Operations Manager.
If you cannot attend the next General Meeting where your membership will be ratified, you will need to sign the additional waiver on the membership form.
Each year at the AGM, all of the previous year's memberships lapse. New applications are accepted at the start of the meeting and voting rights commence immediately.
Make a Donation
Each State School is resourced by the State Government through grant funding to provide a core educational service to students. Voluntary financial contributions are used by schools to provide an enhanced educational service by purchasing additional resources for student learning and comfort (eg air-conditioning).

The P&C can accept two types of donations:
Donations to the Building Fund are tax-deductible so if you do a bank transfer please email email@example.com with all the details, so a receipt can be issued.
Voluntary Donations for a particular purpose or sub-committee (eg JS P&C) are NOT tax-deductible,
