Any parent or citizen interested in the school can attend P&C meetings. However, in order to be eligible to vote on issues, you will need to become a P&C member.
To become a P&C member:

You can join the P&C at any time throughout the year, however voting rights do not commence until the meeting after your membership has been ratified. The exception to this is applications submitted at the AGM.

Download, complete and sign the 'Membership Form'.

Once the form has been completed, these can be scanned and emailed to the P&C Business Manager.

If you cannot attend the next General Meeting where your membership will be ratified, you will need to sign the additional waiver on the membership form.
Please note:
Each year at the AGM, all of the previous year's memberships lapse. New applications are accepted at the start of the meeting and voting rights commence immediately.

KGSC P&C is committed to advancing positive outcomes for our community through advocacy, collaboration, support, and active participation in key platforms that influence our sector.
We work alongside government, peak bodies, community organisations, and other stakeholders to contribute to policy development, inform strategic discussions, and ensure the voices and experiences of our members are represented.
Our involvement in advocacy initiatives and working groups enables us to identify emerging issues, share expertise, contribute to sector-wide solutions, and drive meaningful change.

KGSC Access to the Queensland Ballet Academy Building at Kelvin Grove
The future of the Queensland Ballet Academy building at Kelvin Grove State College presents a unique opportunity to strengthen performing arts education for current and future students.
Queensland Ballet has announced that its Academy training programs will relocate to the Thomas Dixon Centre from 2027, creating an opportunity for the Queensland Government to determine the long-term future of the purpose-built performing arts facility located on the Kelvin Grove State College campus.
Constructed through a significant Queensland Government investment and located on Department of Education land, the building was specifically designed for performing arts education. The facility includes specialised studios, rehearsal spaces and learning environments that align closely with the needs of Kelvin Grove State College's highly regarded Performing Arts Faculty.
Kelvin Grove State College has a long-standing reputation for excellence in music, dance, drama and vocal performance. Hundreds of students participate in performing arts programs each year, developing artistic skills, confidence, leadership, teamwork and pathways into further study and creative industries.
The College community believes that students should be the primary beneficiaries of this public asset. We support continued partnerships with Queensland's arts sector and recognise the value of collaboration with professional arts organisations. However, any future arrangements should ensure that educational outcomes remain the priority and that Kelvin Grove State College students have access to the facilities they need to thrive.
What We Are Advocating For
We are calling on the Queensland Government to:

Make the former Queensland Ballet Academy building the permanent home of Kelvin Grove State College's Performing Arts Faculty.

Ensure Kelvin Grove State College students have priority access to the facility during school hours.

Support shared-use arrangements that complement, rather than displace, student learning.

Consult with the school community regarding the building's long-term future.
This is not yet a settled matter, and community voices can help demonstrate the importance of this facility to our students and the broader College community.
