3 day lockdown - KG OSHC UPDATE

Good Afternoon families,

As I’m sure you are aware, this morning the Premier announced a three-day lockdown for the greater Brisbane area starting from 6pm tonight, Tuesday 29th June to 6pm Friday 2nd of July.

In alignment with this advice from Queensland Health, Vacation Care will operate as normal for all children until 6pm tonight. We will then remain open for Vacation Care for children of essential workers only.

All bookings for Vacation care on Wednesday 30th of June, Thursday 1st of July and Friday 2nd of July have now been removed. All excursions have been cancelled for the week.

Any children of essential workers that require care over these three days must be booked in casually through the My Family Lounge mobile app.

We will provide families with updates regarding Vacation Care next week however, we are expecting to be back to normal operation provided that the lockdown ends as scheduled.

During this lockdown (from 6pm this afternoon) we will have the following procedures to ensure everyone’s safety at our service;

  • Only one parent/guardian is permitted on to the grounds and must be wearing a mask

  • All staff will continue to wear masks when indoors – (Queensland Health advises employees may temporarily remove masks for eating, drinking and for necessary communication with children) – children under 12 years of age do not need to wear masks

  • We continue to ask that you use hand sanitiser before and after touching our iPad screens to sign your child in/out

  • We will continue to only allow one parent/guardian in to the office at a time and no parents/guardians will be allowed access to our indoor spaces. 1.5 metre social distancing will be adhered to where possible

  • We will continue to not accept children and/or families who are sick or have flu-like symptoms

  • We will continue our enhanced cleaning regimens

The health and wellbeing of children, families and staff remain our main focus and we continue to take advice from Queensland Health in relation to this matter. We will keep families updated if we receive more information from Queensland Health or the Department of Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) as we strive to support our community through these times.

As always if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us. Thank you for your understanding and support. We hope you all stay safe and healthy.

Kind Regards,

KG OSHC Management Team
